In order to encourage the research spirit, IOMG periodically organizes two research contests: the Contest of Research in Law & Development (Concurso de Investigación en Derecho y Desarrollo) and the Interdisciplinary Contest of College Research (Concurso Interdisciplinario de Investigación Universitaria)
Research in Law & Development Contest
Starting in 2010, Instituto OMG has periodically organized this contest looking to foster the research, exploration and academic debate spirit about law & development at the international level. The call is addressed to researchers, academics and students of any nationality, with 5 editions already successfully executed.

Interdisciplinary College Research Contest
Starting in 2015, Instituto OMG has periodically organized this contest with the support of several institutions, in order to support and foster the education & development of research in college students so they can address the most current relevant topics through interdisciplinary research (creating work teams of different areas).
1st Call
The 1st Call of the Interdisciplinary College Research Contest was launched in 2015. During the contest two workshops on research methodology were offered, one in the Ángel María Soler Library of the Supreme Court of Justice, and another one in the Juan Pablo Duarte Library of the Central Bank. Participants had access to a Methodology Manual describing the main steps needed to do a bibliographic research and the sections required in the research paper. The winning submissions were published in the First Edition of IOMGs Interdisciplinary College Research Contest Magazine (Revista del Concurso Interdisciplinario de Investigación Universitaria).

2nd Call
The 2nd Call of the Interdisciplinary College Research Contest was launched in march 2016. The main topic was "Law as a tool for development", and in this occasion the research papers had to address one of the following topics: 1) Health and Social Security, 2) Water.
